The 2G is Reed’s latest tonearm which merges the best features of Reed 2A and Reed 3Q tonearms and several new improvments. The Reed 2G is very easily adjusted and can be mounted to virtually any turntable with or without an adapter. Like other Reed tonearms, the 2G features 0.2 mm precision VTA adjustment and the tonearm’s height can be adjusted from 28 mm to 48 mm.

The tonearm is a cardanic bearing system: vertical axis has thrust rotation bearings and horizontal axis is based on thrust pivot bearings similar to the Reed 3P. Constructing our bearing in this manner eliminates bearing play and greatly improves the dynamic impact and quality of playback performance.

All Reed 2G tonearms have a unique azimuth adjustment system allowing a detachable tonarm wand. The detachable armwand feature allows you to change tonearm effective length and effective mass with ease. For the connection between the armwand and tonearm body, we use a high quality LEMO connector.

Like other Reed tonearms, the 2G has replaceable headshells and can be wired with Finewire C37 cable or with a 5-pin DIN connector for a custom cabling solution. The tonearm’s antiskating is magnetic and is similar to one used in Reed 3P tonearm.
